A Place Where Differences Are Celebrated and Teens Can Truly Belong

In today’s world, neurodiversity can look like ADHD, dyslexia, being on the spectrum, or even having social anxiety. At Odyssey Teen Camp, teens who see and process the world differently don’t just get by; they succeed. They find joy, connection, and confidence in a community where they can be fully themselves and still feel supported and happy.

Although we are not a therapeutic camp, our inclusive community gives these campers the strength and confidence they need to connect with others and discover their true potential.

Many of our counselors were once campers themselves—neurodivergent kids who grew up here, gained the tools to thrive, and are now among the most empathetic and capable leaders at OTC. One of them even shared their journey in a blog, Celebrating Neurodiversity at Odyssey, offering a powerful perspective for anyone considering camp.

OTC is more than just a summer camp. It’s a place where differences are celebrated, strengths are uncovered, and neurodivergent teens discover that they don’t have to change who they are to belong because at OTC, they already do.

A Camp Designed Where Neurodivergent Teens Thrive

We understand that traditional summer camps can feel overwhelming or exclusive. That’s where Odyssey is different.

We offer:

  • Sensory-friendly spaces available for downtime and recharging.
Neurodiverse teens often experience challenges with noise, bright lights, and other sensory stimuli. At OTC, we offer quiet spaces designed with these sensitivities in mind, giving campers options to decompress whenever they need. This attention to sensory comfort helps teens feel safe, focused, and ready to fully engage in camp life.
  • A Wellness Team of licensed therapists and nurses, available to listen, support, and ensure every camper’s well-being.
We have five nurses on staff to manage medications and address health needs throughout the day. In addition, our “Wellness Team” of four mental health professionals is available 24/7 to support teens who are feeling overwhelmed or just need a little extra guidance. While OTC is not a therapeutic camp, our team is trained to help teens navigate everyday camp challenges and support them in thriving socially and emotionally. This combination of care ensures that teens can feel confident and secure.
  • Experienced and Understanding Staff
With a staff of fifty mature, trained professionals, OTC stands apart from many camps. Our staff are skilled in supporting neurodiverse teens, truly understanding their needs, strengths, and challenges. This deep understanding allows our counselors to guide campers with empathy and confidence, helping them succeed in every aspect of camp life.
  • Choice-based programming, allowing campers to explore their own interests without pressure.
Camp should be fun, not stressful. At OTC, all activities are elective, so teens aren’t forced into things they don’t want to do. At the same time, our structured, predictable schedule helps campers easily understand where they need to be and what’s coming next. This balance of choice and structure empowers teens to participate on their own terms while feeling secure in the camp environment.
  • A culture of acceptance where being different is not just tolerated, but celebrated.
At OTC, teens discover they can tackle tough situations, adapt, and grow more flexible than they ever imagined. But perhaps most importantly, OTC creates a psychologically safe space where teens are celebrated for their quirks, and insecurities. For neurodiverse teens who often struggle socially, OTC makes it easy to form supportive, lasting friendships.

Although leaving home and trying something new may be scary, our campers feel the OTC difference right away. Once they meet their pod and jump into camp life, it doesn’t take long for them to find their own rhythm. Before you know it, they feel at home, and camp becomes a place where they don’t just adjust, they thrive!

Building Friendships Through Peer Support

Making friends at school isn’t always easy for neurodivergent teens, and social anxiety can make it even harder. At OTC, the opposite is true. Our community is built on kindness, acceptance, and peer support.

Some campers thrive in the social buzz and make lots of friends, while others connect deeply with just one or two. Both are equally valuable. What matters is that every teen finds what feels right for them, and they return to OTC year after year to continue their odyssey of growth.

Compassionate Support for Every Teen

Parents looking for therapy for their neurodivergent teen should know that Odyssey is not a therapeutic program. We don’t provide clinical or licensed therapeutic services.

What we do offer is an intentionally designed, inclusive environment where neurodivergent teens can thrive. Through structured programming, supervised free time, and a community built on acceptance, campers grow in confidence, develop social skills, and discover joy in being fully seen for who they are.

For families seeking a non-clinical but profoundly supportive summer experience, OTC provides a place where teens can flourish on their own terms.

Activities That Celebrate Every Kind of Interest

Everyone grows when they pursue passions that reflect their individuality. That’s why our activities go beyond traditional camp programs, while still offering plenty of classic favorites.

  • Creative Expression: Art, music, theater, and writing that give teens the freedom to explore their imagination.
  • Imaginative Play: Gaming, Magic: The Gathering, and our signature Weird & Wonderful workshops that welcome curiosity and quirks.
  • Spirituality & Social Justice: Safe spaces for reflection, mindfulness, and meaningful conversations about the world.
  • Adventure & Movement: Hiking, swimming, and sports that are non-competitive and focused on fun rather than winning

Because campers choose their own activities daily, every teen creates a summer that’s as authentic as they are.
