We Are Hiring Camp Nurses
Attention all nurses! Are you looking for a unique and fulfilling summer job opportunity? As a camp nurse at OTC, you will join a dynamic and creative health care team committed to providing respectful, compassionate care for all campers, including transgender, non-conforming, and neurodivergent teens. Successful candidates will be self-initiating, adaptable, and have a strong sense of humor.
Compensation for this position is $1,500 per week, including meals, housing, and kitchen access.
Dates:
3-Week Position (June 15-July 5th)
6-Week Position (June 15-July 26th)
Job Description:
- Assess camper injury and illness and apply nursing judgement to provide interventions within scope of practice
- Adhere to provider’s orders and determine when emergency care or evaluation by an Advanced Practioner is needed
- Provide on-call overnight coverage on a rotational basis
- Administer scheduled and PRN medications
- Thorough and accurate documentation of all nursing interventions and communications with camper families.
- Ensure that Odyssey Teen Camp protocols, local and state guidelines for healthcare provision and camp management, HIPPA standards, and evidence-based practices are upheld at all times
- Maintain orderly and sanitary workspaces
- Review and organize camper health forms and records in preparation for MA Board of Health inspection
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with all camp staff and leadership
- Assist in maintaining a camp atmosphere that is comfortable, playful, and supportive for all campers and staff
Nurse Requirements:
- Current Massachusetts nursing license (RN or LPN) obtained before start of employment - OTC will cover licensing fees
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred (not required)
- Pass a background check, complete a physical exam, and provide proof of immunizations
- Physical ability to navigate uneven terrain in an outdoor environment
