This is an experimental drawing class! By the end of this class, you’ll have more creative confidence, new drawing techniques, new friends, and a new artistic community!

Creative Writing With Pippy and Georgios

Do you like reading? Do you like writing? Do you vaguely recall that you used to like reading and writing? Do you like non-traditional forms of reading and writing, such as e-books, visual novels, audio books, fan-fiction or poetry you found graffiti’d on a bathroom wall? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I suggest you join OTC’s creative writing intensive. We’ll discuss writing we like, writing we don’t like, and do some writing of our own. Join us, won’t you?

Vegan Cooking With Julie @ 4:30-5:30pm

Nature Walk With Georgios @ 1:45-2:45pm

Nature Walk – In this series of pre-recorded videos, I’ll take you down to some of my very favorite nature spots. We’ll see wild bee hives (you can watch me get stung), alligators, lizards, baby birds, lots of insects, snakes – so much more! Adventures abound.

Sketch Comedy With Venice @ 3-4pm

Intro to Sketch Comedy – SNL, Key and Peele, Portlandia. What do these things have in common? Well, yeah, they’re TV shows… Good answer. But they’re also all sketch comedy! In Intro To Sketch Comedy, we’ll watch some of the best videos from some of the best shows. We’ll talk about what makes them funny. We’ll talk about the basic format of a sketch; the game, the beats of the scene, how it builds… Then, we’ll do some brainstorming and maybe even write a sketch collectively by the end of the class! Hope to see you there!

Stick Sculpture Making With Clare @ 12:45-1:45pm

In this class we will will create sculptures from sticks that have fallen on the ground, string, duct tape, and whatever else you have in your house!  Feel free to get creative!  We’ll be making sculptures for decoration, for drying socks – the possibilities are endless!

Art and Reproductive Justice With Heyley @ 3-4pm

Reproductive Justice and Civic Engagement Workshop – This is a workshop all about building! Students not only learn about building parades, they’ll also learn how to build giant puppets, banners, and bands! Together we’ll continue to build on social justice movements that center reproductive justice. We’ll learn about some of the intersection struggles and hard-won fights that were instrumental in securing our reproductive rights and imaging together how to keep moving forward in a positive and loving manner.

Build a Stering Engine With Derek @ 12:45-1:45pm

A Stirling engine is a heat engine that is operated by a compression and expansion of air… We’ll make our own engines using discarded soda cans and create incredible little machines that move all on their own. Join me, watch the video, and then submit videos of your own can engines!
